Aim Blitz

Aim → Act → Audit

Quick, focused wins in 6–10 minutes.

Pick your target, set the timer, and make it happen.

How it works

1) Scope a task (95%)

From a bigger goal, pick a sub-task you’re ~95% sure you can finish in 10 min (or 6–7 for a truer blitz).

2) Define the win

Write a one-sentence win condition. Add a line “WIN: ___” to fill at the end.

3) Start the timer

Use your phone/clock for 10 (or 6–7) minutes. Work with intense focus.

4) Mark the result

Finish by writing WIN: YES if complete, or WIN: NO if not—note blockers for next time.

About the name

Aim Blitz works as both nouns and verbs. As nouns: you have a goal (aim) and execute it with intensity (blitz, like in chess). As verbs: first you aim at your target, then you blitz to it with quick, focused action. Either way, it's about intention followed by rapid execution.

Why it works (the psychology)

  • Time pressure → focus. Tight deadlines reduce distractions.
  • Binary outcome → feedback. Win/Loss reinforces the behavior quickly.
  • Short duration → low resistance. 10 minutes feels doable; momentum compounds.
  • Constructive craving redirect. It taps the same dopamine circuitry as the urge (e.g., blitz chess, social media scroll), but for progress.
  • Success spiral. 95% confidence sizing avoids overwhelm and builds streaks.

Implementation notes

  • Use on demand when a craving hits—whether it's the urge to play a quick chess game, scroll social media, or any small distraction. Channel that energy into an AB instead.
  • Write the win condition before you start.
  • Log wins/losses; consider a simple streak or ELO later.
  • As you improve, tighten constraints (shorter timer or slightly tougher tasks).

FAQ

Is Aim Blitz just Pomodoro?
No—Aim Blitz is shorter, on-demand, and ends with an explicit WIN: YES/NO.
Why 6–7 minutes?
It mirrors blitz-chess intensity while staying long enough to finish a micro-task.
Do I need an app?
No. Start with a notebook and your phone timer. Apps for logging and streaks can come later.
